Poor little Carolina Wren is getting a bit tousled by the intense wind as she clings to the branch of a small shrub and attempts to do a bit of preening.
I’m happy to have captured these images. When I first saw movement in the bramble, it was actually a White-crowned Sparrow that caught my eye. The next three photos show what appears to be an inquisitive exchange between the two birds – somewhat like, “Hey, I didn’t see you here.” “Well, I was here first!” The perspective of the final photo show shows a rare “grumpy” look on the sparrow’s beak – which my human brain just can’t ignore. Yeah, they are just birds, but they are certainly more than “birdbrains.”
Hi Tammie, Our local birds sure did not like the wind either!
