Check out the tiny insects that are flying around the Goldfinch in the these images. I didn’t see them when I was taking the photos.

It’s was quite chilly that day, and along with the Goldfinch in the pictures, I had seen the first pair of Tree Swallows checking out a nest box that a they had used last year. I remember thinking, “how are those birds going to survive when they need to eat insects on the fly and it’s so cold, I can’t imagine any bugs being around?” When I downloaded the photos and saw those insects the answer to my question was captured in the images.
