I looked down and there she was – this precious, mama rabbit. She was panting. I don’t know if she had been running, or she was just reacting to the warm weather. I suspect she was aware of me – wondering what my next move might be. I simply whispered, “It’s alright, Mama, I won’t alert anyone that you are resting here.” Then, we shared a few moments together and I moved on. She stayed behind in her little shelter of cool, tall grass.
